Towards a New El Salvador through Integrated DevelopmentThe CIS has two programs that support integrated development and grassroots organizing. Both include a perspective of gender equality.
Solidarity Partners The CIS facilitates sistering and accompaniment with organizations and communities working for economic and social justice. We prioritize municipalities based on their will to organize, their needs, and where there is little support by other NGOs or the government. The CIS tries to match strengths and interests of international and local groups. Through facilitating these relations, the CIS guides work to strengthen local empowerment and avoid building paternalistic or dependency relationships. Follow the hyperlink for more information on the program or to find out how to be a solidarity partner.
Grassroots Organizers Solidarity organizations and individuals contribute to pay part of the salaries of grassroots organizers in order to strengthen civic participation and the defense of citizens' rights. We specifically focus on empowering women and youth.
