The CIS invites you to participate in a special program on women´s struggles, November and December 2007

 

November 11—25, 2007: combine morning Spanish  lessons with afternoon/weekend political and cultural  programs focused on women’s current reality:

Live with a Salvadoran host family

bullet Celebrate International Day Against Violence Against Women with other grassroots activists
bullet Hear testimony of women’s struggles in El Salvador
bullet Visit women’s organizations that promote micro-enterprising opportunities for women
bullet Participate in the international commemoration of the 1989 massacre at the University of Central America (UCA) of six Jesuits, their cook and her daughter
 

 

November 26–December 4, 2007: solidarity delegation

Stay in a rural village hosted by women’s groups

bullet

Meet with women’s human rights leaders

bullet

Visit women’s crafts and economic projects

bullet

Meeting with Maryknoll Sisters

bullet

Participate in the international commemoration the 1980 murder of the four U.S. Churchwomen at
San Pedro Nonualco and Chalatenengo

Participant in-country costs:
Special Spanish School:  November 11 – 25, $600
Special Delegation:   November 26 – December 4, $600
Both programs, $1200


Costs include: housing, most meals, ground transportation, guides,
Spanish translation (and Spanish classes for Nov. 11– 25 program)
