This is how we experienced the 2025 Scholarship Gathering!

This year’s CIS Scholarship Gathering focused on one of the most urgent issues facing our communities: the impacts of metal mining. Together with more than 135 scholarship students from different parts of El Salvador, we reflected on how mining affects our ecosystems, pollutes water sources, and threatens community health.

Through presentations and open dialogue, students shared their perspectives and learned about local initiatives that are working to protect the environment and defend life in the territories.

But the gathering was also a space for connection and joy. We enjoyed games, group dynamics, and cultural activities that strengthened friendships. It was inspiring to see their energy, commitment, and love for the enviroment translated into ideas and proposals for action.

At CIS, we believe in creating spaces where youth not only pursue their studies but also grow as leaders and defenders of social and environmental justice.

Thank you to all the students, families, and communities who made this gathering possible. Together, we continue to build hope and resilience for El Salvador’s future.
