Bright Ideas, Unstoppable Women: Entrepreneurship Workshops Start in San Rafael Cedros
SAN RAFAEL CEDROS – July 9, 2026 – In alignment with its mission to support the economic sovereignty of Salvadoran women, the Centro de Intercambio y Solidaridad (CIS) celebrated the launch of the first workshop: "Development of Entrepreneurial Capabilities" in San Rafael Cedros. The inaugural session brought together 12 motivated local women.
This workshop marks the beginning of a comprehensive 9-session training cycle running from now through September 2026. The primary goal of this initiative is to develop and strengthen the participants' entrepreneurial skills, fostering financial autonomy through the Women's Empowerment School methodology.
The comprehensive curriculum is structured into 3 core modules:
Module 1: Life Skills and Entrepreneurship.
Module 2: Design Thinking and Resilient Business Models (Creativity & Innovation).
Module 3: Digital Communication (including the practical use of social media and Artificial Intelligence tools).
Upon completing the program, participants will have identified their individual strengths to project life goals and will be fully equipped to design solid value propositions and viable business models.
A Long-Term Path to Sustainability This initiative is a core part of the ongoing CIS program designed to break the cycles of poverty and forced migration by generating dignified, local employment. CIS experience shows that women-led microbusinesses require steady accompaniment and take an average of 9 years to become fully self-sustaining. For this reason, these workshops serve as the foundation of a deeper incubation process that includes establishing local leadership committees, specialized technical assistance, and access to seed capital for essential equipment and materials.
